KWA MDAPUNA opened its doors on the 6th of February 1974 in the heart of Pietermaritzburg CBD, in Retief Street. This is a family owned business that has specialized in African traditional items and served the African community for 52 years.
We, at the MDAPUNA family, have decided to broaden our horizons and offer online services and customer care to the vast African community that are located in the suburbs.
The business, for a long time, catered for all ilobola items as well. We have access to continue providing those items and are able to do so, on request. However, our online store caters mostly for the traditional Zulu attire and customary needs.
We are familiar with the names and requirements of all products, most of which are hand made by local talent. Therefore, our business promotes growth and rewards to the highly skilled talent of our people, mostly situated in the rural areas.
We aim to provide an efficient service to our community with a view to enhancing and maintaining the traditions of our people.
We are open to all suggestions and requests of any further items that our customers may require, and we look forward to hearing from you on how we can add to our products.
